Environment as the 3rd teacher

I was reading something today and it caused me a bit of reflection and self-correction. I have been talking about the environment as the 3rd teacher for years and have been leaving out peers as one of the first 2 teachers. I am clarifying that here- as part of the educational triad of adults (parents/teachers) and peers as the first 2. This would then lead us to the third being the environment.

It seems important to emphasize the importance of the lived space and way materials and settings are conceived- but also to acknowleddge the importance and accuracy of the first 2 intended as adults and peers.
