Hi friends-

I am organizing professional development workshops around the country over the next 6 months and this may be the very end of taking my show on the road :) . If you are interested in organizing something in your area- please contact me. The cities and dates will be posted very soon- San Francisco is next on May 2…

My best,

Julianne

Ciao, Julianne! Perhaps you will remember coming to DC and staying at our house before your presentation to the Beverly Hills Cooperative Preschool crowd in Alexandria, VA. I certainly do! As a homeschool mom and church religion teacher, I have benefited so much from everything I learned at that seminar and other courses I took. Now I’m helping friends within the Archdiocese of Washington put together better catechesis for children with disabilities, particularly those with autism. I keep thinking that the skills of observation and documentation that I learned through Reggio would be useful to so many teachers in this area. Also, the idea of using non-traditional methods of teaching–more emphasis on the 100 languages, rather than traditional catechesis taught through book learning–would be successful here. Could you tailor a workshop to an audience of parents and teachers who teach religion to disabled kids? If so, would you be able to come to the DC area on your 6 month tour? If not, let me know your tour schedule. If you will be on the east coast, I will try to direct some of the parents to your workshops.

I’d love to hear how you are doing. When I last saw you–can it be 10 years ago!!!–you were full of energy, enthusiasm and ideas. My whole family was so impressed. I hope life has been good to you!
